Direct Modeling of Pore Size Evolution and Microcollapse in Lyophilization by Population Balance
Posted to arXiv, 2026-10-02.
Work that resulted from my my time spent as a Fulbright grantee, doing an exchange at the Politecnico di Torino in Italy.
We developed a model for the evolution of pore size distributions during lyophilization, which accounts for process conditions to predict how microcollapse changes the mass transfer resistance over time.
